Sumit is a design thinker and an entrepreneur. He works at intersection of design, technology and impact to create innovative, relevant and accessible solutions. Sumit is a frequent speaker at global forums where he talks about design leadership and social entrepreneurship.
Sumit used his education in engineering and design to evolve as both a critical and a creative thinker. His entrepreneurial experience further added pragmatism and pace to decision making. He is an industry thought leader in design and product practices. He has worked in diverse roles which include design leader, interaction designer, researcher, entrepreneur, teacher and advisor. Currently, he leads design and research at Hike.
His works, specially in accessibility, has won numerous honours. These include multiple patents, TED Fellow, Rolex Laureate, Echoing Green Fellow, MIT TR35 India, Nasscom Social Enterprise, IVLP US. Dept of State, NCPEDP Universal Design Awards. He has also been frequently covered in media such as BBC, the Guardian, the Economist, Fast Company, Mashable, TOI, HT and was mentioned amongst “66 Reasons to keep faith in India” in Business Today’s special edition.
Sumit lives in Delhi with his wife and daughter. He loves to paint and to make short films.
